Pierre is a young boy from a family of Resistence fighters under Italian occupation in 1942. He meets an Italian soldier, a deserter, hiding in a sheepfold in the scrubland. Every day, Pierre brings the soldier food. To show his appreciation, and in exchange for his silence, every day the soldier gives Pierre a page from his book on Italian Renaissance architecture.
