Tatya is worshipped as a god by his villagers as his prediction never goes wrong. On a daily basis, villagers gather in their house to take his blessings and advice. Tatya's elder son Datta is married to Shanti who is cursed by villagers for being childless, his younger son Vaman is a drunkard and only frequents the village, Devaki his eldest daughter has left her husband's house and lives with him whose spoils the peace of the house.
