Mr Kruse, a merchant, lives in a pleasant country house with his daughter Alice. Although Alice is busy studying for her exams, she finds time to flirt with the young, handsome Søren Hammer, much to her father’s displeasure. When the family goes sailing to celebrate Alice’s graduation, Søren Hammer and one of his friends follow in the students’ wake.
