In the New York music world, she develops her talent rapidly. In occupied Poland, in a cattle wagon and during her escape from captivity, she fights a duel with a musically unfulfilled Soviet officer who envies her talent. Although in the other world, Marta has no chance, she fights to save her son and write the work of her life.
