It tells the story of Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe's struggle for revenge against Hasan Çavuş, who killed his father. The Ottoman government sends word to the efes living in the mountains that they will be able to live safely if they come down to the plains. Çakırcalı Ahmet Efe decides to come down from the mountains to end the struggle that has been going on for years. However, Hasan Çavuş and his soldiers ambush Çakırcalı Ahmet Efe and his friends, killing them all. At the time, Mehmet, who is seven or eight years old, is raised by Hacı. Mehmet will join Hacı in the fight against Hasan Çavuş.
