Craftsman Carl Johansen must assess whether an abandoned house ruin in a small provincial town should be demolished or renovated. On his first day of work, he finds a few pieces of glass with the word "Help" written on them. When he hears voices coming from inside the house, he begins an intense effort to show the outside world that someone still lives in the house. But who lives in the house, and how can he help them?
