The Fianceé
On a summer Sunday in Montreal, an eighty-year-old Italian named Carolina meets Yolaine, a thirty-year-old Cuban. In the 1950s, Carolina was married to a Québécois man with Italian roots. Yolaine has come to Montreal to rejoin Frank—another Québécois of Italian background—who is showing himself to be macho and aggressive. While it is too late for Carolina to alter her own destiny, she still might be able to have an impact on Yolaine's.
