He is best known for his recurring role as Captain Robert Bishop in Season 13 of Chicago Fire and for portraying a Bomb Squad Lieutenant in the Chicago Fire episode "Viral". Kupferer has also appeared in multiple episodes of Chicago P.D., playing various characters including Gary Stevens, Joe Frank Amerson, and Frank Amerson.
