Vladimir Georgievich Yakovlev was a Soviet makeup artist. He was awarded the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR (1967) and the first-degree Stalin Prize laureate (1950). He graduated from the Moscow Imperial Academy of Commercial Sciences. From 1927 to 1977, he worked as a makeup artist at various film studios. He was a master of portrait makeup. He was the first to develop and apply plastic makeup, which made it possible to accurately characterize characters.
