Veera Saar

Veera Saar (until 1936 Veera-Alise Döring; March 28, 1912 Aasiku, Jamburg County, St. Petersburg Governorate – July 20, 2004) was an Estonian writer and pedagogue. She graduated from the Jõhvi Highschool in 1931 and from the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tartu in 1937. In 1940, she defended her master's thesis "The Bone Ring" in the field of folklore, which was approved as a candidate of sciences degree in 1947.
