Japanese cinematographer. He is a member of the Japan Society of Cinematographers (JSC). In 1972, he graduated from Chiyoda College of Photography. From 1975 to 1976 he belonged to Mifune Productions. He worked on various films as a camera operator and in related roles. In 1985, he earned his first credit as director of photography for Seijun Suzuki's film "Capone Cries a Lot".
