Sunderland-born and bred Tony Briggs began his career as a freelance photographer and film director working for The BBC, Channel 4, Acid Jazz, Go-Discs, MCA Universal and the London style magazines; i-D, The Face, LOADED and Dazed & Confused. ​ "Tone has had the Midas touch all along, doing the first portrait sessions for Sacha Baron-Cohen, Kate Moss, Bill Bailey and Jimmy Carr. They no longer return his calls.
