Daniel Wehr, born in Koblenz, Germany and of American-Jewish parentage, began to play drums when he was four years old. At a young age he had already given many classical solo concerts. His desire to impro- vise soon brought him into contact with jazz. He became the youngest-ever member of Peter Herbolz- heimer’s Bundes-Jazz-Orchestra and the JORP. In New York and in Boston Daniel trained under jazz greats Jeff Tain Watts and Alan Dawson.
