Anita Monteiro (b. 2007) is a Brazilian filmmaker and photographer based in Montreal, Quebec. Working across photography and cinema, their practice explores intimacy, desire, discomfort, and the absurd through surreal constructed worlds that blend laughs and cries. A TIFF Next Wave alumnus, Anita's work has screened internationally at festivals including the Fantasia International Film Festival, Toronto Youth Shorts and Busan International Kids & Youth Film Festival.
