Zacharie Malek was born in Athens, Ohio in the U.S., son of a teacher-researcher father and a schoolteacher mother. He has a passion for film since childhood. After returning to France at the age of two his parents separated. He attended a school in Agneaux and became involved with the dramatic arts thanks to a director who organized plays with the students and a performance at the end of each year. He then starts to imagine himself acting in place of the children he sees in the films.
